This project explored the makeover theme in rom coms from the late 90s to early 2000s as it relates to body standards for women.  I used Savannah Brown’s reading of “What Guys Look for in Girls” with footage from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) to connect the body standards of young girls to the media they consume. Through this project, I was able to change the meaning of the film clips to make the viewer think about how this movie and similar rom coms affect the way women perceive themselves.
